The scale is your enemy! It doesn’t want to see you happy so when you stand on it, hoping for good news, it kills it! Even though you feel as if you are losing weight, the scale shows the complete opposite. Let me tell you something — you may not be losing weight, but you may be getting back in shape.
You are becoming a fitter version of you, but how do you know? That’s what I am going to tell you. To know that you are on the right track to losing weight, here are five signs to look out for:
1. You Don’t Crave for Junk Food as You Once Used To
You have changed your entire diet, making healthier choices. You have limited your carb and starch intake. When you limit your junk food intake, you are programing your body to crave sweets and chips less.
To test this out, I want you to create a list of the five top foods you once loved eating the most. After two weeks, see if you still crave them. If you don’t, you are on the correct path to losing weight. Eat protein, vegetables, and healthy fats with every meal you eat to beat and eliminate the cravings for junk food.
2. You Are Using Heavier Dumbbells
When you started weight training, you probably used to less heavier dumbbells, but with time, you have begun to use heftier dumbbells. That is because you are building strength. You are becoming stronger than you were before. If you can lift dumbbells that are seven to ten percent heftier, you are fit as a fiddle. If you can perform planks for longer durations, give yourself a pat on your back because your endurance level has increased.
3. You Feel More Relaxed
When you exercise, your energy levels increase. You feel more active in the morning. If you feel active and well rested when you wake up in the morning, know that your sleep quality has improved. To test this out, you can use a sleep tracker device. The device will track how long it takes you to sleep and reach the REM sleep stage. Once you begin to see changes in your sleep schedule, it may motivate you to go bed at an earlier time.
4. Your Eating Habits Have Changed
If you visit the gym regularly, you may notice that you do not feel as hungry as you once used to or you may feel famished. Exercise affects each person differently, either they do not feel hungry or they feel very hungry. If you feel hungrier, although it might frustrate you at first, but know that your body requires more food to burn even more calories.
5. Your Jeans Fit You Differently
When you wear your jeans, do you notice they fit you a little differently than before? Even though your jeans are not getting looser, you are filling them out better. They feel tighter because you are building muscle. Just look in the mirror to see the evidence.
After reading this, we hope you no longer feel down in the dumps!
