Even though we love makeup, there are days where we want to go outside, showing off our bare faces. However, if we don’t have the skin for it, we have no choice, but to layer our face with makeup. You do not have to wear makeup! At least not every day, and certainly not when you don’t want to wear it! Here are a few ways you can pull off the no makeup look:
· Take Care of Your Skin
That should be a given. Concealer and foundation makes our skin glow, but on the days we don’t wear it, our skin looks dull. This is because it hides our imperfections. This leads us to neglect our skin. Therefore, there is no way we can show our bare, true, makeup free face without lathering on our special formula.
If you want to pull off a no makeup look, here’s what you can do — exfoliate! Exfoliate your skin to remove dead cells. Use a facial scrub to eliminate dullness, clogged pores, dark spots, and acne. You can buy an over the counter facial scrub or make one at home. You need to scrub your face at last once every week, if you have normal skin. Scrub your face three times each week if you have oily skin.
· Drink Plenty of Water
With no foundation on your face to give you that natural, healthy glow, you need to turn to water. You need to drink plenty of water throughout the day to keep your skin hydrated and glowing. Apart from drinking water, you also need to apply moisturizer on your skin.
For women with oily skin, you need to apply a lightweight moisturizer or organic moisturizer to prevent acne and clogged pores. You can also create your own moisturizer at home that gives your skin the same natural glow that a highlighter, blush, and bronzer does.
· Protect Your Skin
To protect your skin, concealer, powder, and foundation used to do that trick, but now, you need to turn to using a sunblock with an SPF of 15 or higher. Sunblock will protect your skin and prevent sun damage, which in return, will reduce age spots, wrinkles, and fine lines. You should apply sunblock at least half an hour before heading out the door. Don’t forget about your lips. Protect them with a lip balm, containing SPF.
· Define Your Eyebrows
You need to groom your eyebrows because you will not be relying on eyeliner, eye shadow, and mascara to define them. They will make your eyes stand out! To groom your eyebrows, hold a makeup brush against the bridge of your nose. Next, angle the brush toward the inner edge of your eyes.
This will tell you where your eyebrows should begin and then use tweezers to remove any hair that falls outside. Line up the makeup brush with the outside of corner of your iris. This will be the arch’s highest point. Now, remove all stray hair. Look in the mirror to ensure your eyebrows look like each other. Tweeze any hair that looks out of place.
After a few weeks of following these tips, you will be flaunting your flawless, makeup free skin, everywhere!
