Botox is not something everyone considers getting. If you are one of them, you may be mulling over the idea of getting Botox to eliminate your fine lines and wrinkles, but may have not yet come around to making an actual appointment with your doctor.
You may be hesitant or perhaps your nervousness might be holding you back. Whatever the reason is, know that Botox is not the last resort to removing wrinkles and fine lines from your skin. Yes, there are natural alternatives to Botox that you can try instead. Here they are:
1. Apply Sunscreen
You need to apply sunscreen on your skin on a daily basis. Whenever you are going out, apply sunscreen on your face and any exposed area of your skin. You need to keep sunscreen in your bag as well. If you are indoors for too long, you can apply it gain before heading out again. Sunscreen will protect you from the harsh UV rays of the sun, which cause fine lines and wrinkles.
2. Always Stay Hydrated
You need to drink water — a tip I have mentioned in several blogs already and keep emphasizing on. The reason being is that water is your skin’s lifeline. Without it, your skin will look lifeless. You need to hydrate your skin with water each day, drinking at least seven to eight glasses. Keep a water bottle on you at all times! Just remember to drink water throughout the day.
3. Do Not Use or Do Things that Age Your Skin Faster
Smoking and alcohol worsens your skin. It leads to fine lines and wrinkles. It ages your skin at a faster rate. If you smoke, try to quit. If you drink alcohol, try to limit the number of drinks you gulp down in a day. You should also stop eating a lot of sugar. Instead, I want you to eat healthy and exercise each day even if it is for half an hour.
4. Use Natural Ingredients to Slow Down the Aging Process
Your skin needs Alpha hydroxy acid (AHA)! Most anti-aging moisturizers contain AHA and you can get it through fruits. You can create a fruit mask for instance, which gives me an idea to tell you about some great fruit masks you can create at home in my next blog.
You can use lemons by adding it into water or green tea. The vitamin C in lemons will increase collagen production. You can eat apples. An apple a day keeps the Botox away! Apples contain vitamin C and fiber. You can eat papayas, which eliminate dead skin cells and break down proteins. Eat a lot of berries to reverse oxidative damage and leafy greens to make your skin glow.
5. Use Natural Skincare Ingredients
You need to use cranberry seed oil, which contains omega 3 and omega 6 fatty acids. It will hydrate your skin. Use raspberry seed oil. It contains antioxidants and anti-inflammatory properties, both of which are great for your skin. You can also use camelina oil. It will nourish and protect your skin and reduce signs of aging.
Try these five natural alternatives out! They may take longer to work than Botox, but their effects will last you a lifetime!
