Obviously, you know you need to drink eight glasses of water, sleep at least seven to eight hours at night, eat healthy, and exercise. We won’t reiterate what you already know. Instead, we’re going to take the unconventional route. We’re going to tell you about the following five unconventional ways you can boost your health:
1. Photograph Moments to Put a Smile on Your Face
Do you like to take pictures? Are you one of those who takes pictures of their food, friends, and places when they are out and about? You like to preserve your memories and experiences through pictures. If you have a habit of taking out your mobile phone every time you’re out with your family and friends, keep it up!
When you’re feeling down, flip through those pictures to recall those happy and precious moments of your life and it will automatically put a smile on your face. We recommend you print those pictures out and create an album.
2. Stress Strengthens Your Immune System
Unreal, we know! Acute stress strengthens your immune system. If you’re nervous for the big test, think about the positive effects of stress on your immune system. When you’re stressed, your body releases hormones such as cortisol, which strengthens your immune system.
3. Don’t Hold Back Your Tears
If you tend to hold back your tears, now, it is time to let them go. Let your tears run down your cheeks because they are good for your health. After you have cried your eyes out, you feel much better. You feel lighter as if you have lifted a heavy load off your shoulders. If you’re not a crier, cut onions to release those tears.
If you are a crier and want your tears to help you boost your health, watch a sad movie. On the days that you feel extremely stressed, you need to cry, cry, and just cry. You’ll feel amazing once you have cried your stress away!
4. Friends Are a Health Booster
If you feel depressed and stressed, do not isolate yourself from your friends. Make an effort to hang out with them. Call them and ask them if they want to go somewhere or just call them over to your house to watch a movie and eat popcorns. Your friends, even if momentarily, will take your mind off issues plaguing you. Lean on your friends in your time of need and they will do wonders to improve your mood and health.
5. Take Deep Breaths
You need to take deep breaths. Deep breathing will help you feel less sluggish and stressed. You need to breathe slowly through your nose and out through your mouth. Doing this repeatedly will slow down your heart rate. It will also decrease your blood pressure and relax your muscles. Every cell in your body will receive oxygen each time you inhale and exhale.
These ways to boost your health are definitely unconventional. We hope you try them out the next time you feel your world is crashing down on you! Relax and be happy and healthy!
